118 containers of Illegal Imports of beef are still Stuck at Priok

Jakarta -Ministry of trade (Kemendag) Joint Customs Ministry of finance holding 118 containers of beef allegedly imported illegally.

"The results of our coordination with the customs of any illegal imports for the culprits of the beef is done by yg PT KSU," says Director General of foreign trade, Ministry of Commerce in his Office, Deddy Saleh Jl Ridwan Rais, Friday (24/8/12).

Estimate the amount of meat, Deddy import illegal reached 2800 tons more are transported into the 118 containers coming from Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, and currently still is stuck in the port of Tanjung Priok.

"As an illustration, as many as 35 of 118 containers are sized 40 feet, while the rest 83 20 feet container-sized. If the average size of 40 feet container contains 26-30 tons and 20 feet container contains about 22 tons, it is predicted the number 3037 tonnes, "he explained.

Deddy explains, import allocation on KSU II semester 2012, amounting to only 300 tons, while the 2012 1st semester-as much as 500 tons, and all quota it already realized,

"This obviously goes far beyond the amount of appropriations allowed imports to PT Kemendag KSU," he said.

Further mention, will crack down on Deddy firmly with withdrew authorization as a registered importer PT KSU if convicted of beef imports was illegal.

"If our verification results proven later with deliberately falsified his permission letter will do our resolute action we will disconnect the importer listed from the company in question," pungkasnya.
