Jelang Lebaran, 150,000 Cows Ready Cut

Jakarta -Minister of agriculture (Mentan) Suswono said there was no addition of import quotas for meat consumption markets ahead of the Idul Fitri because the current excess meat stock. Even as many as 150,000 cows live ready cut to supply the needs of meat hight.

"The Government has agreed to add to the thousands of tonnes of imported meat 7 for industrial needs and is not fresh meat consumption society," said Minister of agriculture Suswono in Hotel Park, on Wednesday (15/8/2012).

He spoke, there was no addition of import quotas for meat kosumsi meat quotas according to because it is still in excess of kosumsi enough.

"At the moment there are still up to the Idul fitri 150,000 stock cow ready cut, so are safe and do not need to import," he said.

Suswono added the public need not worry, even if the public are worried it is not impossible meat prices will rise and uncontrolled.

"It's a matter of market expectations, the price of Rp 80,000/Kg is still reasonable and not high, the public don't worry, there are stock and safe," the lid.
